Lead with Ease
Hello beautiful humans,
I recorded this month’s Lumina Letter so if you prefer, you can hear it in my voice — perfect for a walk, your morning coffee, or a quiet moment to yourself. Listen below xo
Welcome back to the Lumina Letter & Welcome to Capricorn Season.
And yes — we are very delayed, which is honestly quite unlike Capricorn energy. But the truth is, I’ve been so busy doing so much Capricorn — putting things into action — that this went to the wayside. And so here we are.
I wonder how much you have been feeling Capricorn energy..
It’s an interesting time of year — with the holidays, the new year, being around so many people — and yet there’s such a strong call for structure during this time. A call to be grounded. There’s so much talk about: How do I stay connected to myself? How do I take a deep breath? How do I fit in rest while also fitting in everything on my to-do list before the end of the year?
And honestly… that’s kind of a Capricorn dream.
Give me structure. Give me a framework. Let me lead my life in a way that makes sense.
So I hope you’ve been feeling a bit more pause after the firey Sagittarius energy— not necessarily slowness, but a pause.
Capricorn Season (December 22 – January 19)
Capricorn is Earth Energy. It is grounded. Practical. Logical. Earth is our connection to this material, 3D world.
Think of the trees outside — rooted into the soil. There’s strength in a tree: strong bark, deep roots. If the soil is nurtured, the tree grows. It offers shade. It offers protection. We can even chop it down and build a house. The possibilities are endless.
There’s a quiet, stoic nature to a big tree.
There’s gentleness in the leaves as the wind blows.
There’s softness in the soil beneath our feet.
There’s fresh air in the oxygen the tree gives us.
That is Earth energy.
As we come to the end of the year, there’s that strange in-between space — where two weeks almost feel like nothingness. The big holiday moments have happened, the hustle has (hopefully) slowed, and there’s an opportunity to recenter and recalibrate within ourselves.
And then of course we ask the so very Capricorn question: What am I going to achieve?
Energetically, we’re still in winter. Still in hibernation. The big activations come later — in spring. Right now, Capricorn is asking us to get quiet. To reflect. To restructure.
The lesson here is that worth is not just about doing.
Collective Energy
Capricorn is a cardinal sign. It initiates. It carves a path. It says:
I’m here. I know where I’m going. I’m not confused. I’m moving forward with conviction.
I often call Capricorn the “dad” of the zodiac — or whatever archetype resonates for you. It’s masculine energy. Doing energy. Ruled by Saturn — our life lessons, discipline, responsibility, structure, meaning-making. This is 10th house energy: goals, achievement, legacy.
If you know a Capricorn, you might know they can be stubborn. Rigid. Tunnel-visioned at times.
But the beauty of Capricorn is this deep drive to make something of this life — and, in its highest expression, to give back, and create safety, stability, and structure in the world.
On the high road, Capricorn is present, loving, protective, nurturing, and capable of leading with integrity. This energy builds businesses, systems, and structures that benefit others. Capricorn takes us somewhere. If I’m in my life thinking, “We’re on a mission,” Capricorn is the energy I want driving the bus.
On the low road, Capricorn can become emotionally detached. There’s so much focus on doing that being gets forgotten. Emotional expression doesn’t always come easily. Love might be shown through actions — “I’m doing all of this for you” — but not always through words or vulnerability.
There can be a my way or the highway quality. Capricorn is often ten or twenty steps ahead, which makes collaboration harder. Others may feel left out of the process — even if intentions are good.
And this is where grounding becomes essential.
When Capricorn stays connected to Earth — to meaning, purpose, embodiment — abundance flows. Financial abundance, energetic exchange, fulfillment. But when Capricorn disconnects from Earth and embodiment, the drive can become hollow. Goals without soul. Achievement without connection. This can lead to isolation, emotional disconnection, and loneliness — the shadow of this archetype.
Living in the Energy
I’ve been moving, traveling, making lists, checking things off — very much in doing mode…
But over the last couple of days, as structure around me has settled, my body and mind have followed. I’ve been intentionally bringing Earth in — plants, fresh air, slowing down — while also giving myself grace for not doing everything.
Can I be present right now?
Can I say: This is my life in this moment — and meet it fully?
These are big questions for me right now. What do I want to foster? What do I want to build? And I’m realizing I haven’t had space to answer that yet — because I’ve been so busy doing.
So I’ll be spending the next couple of weeks sitting in Capricorn’s beauty. Reorganizing. Restructuring. Getting honest with myself about the path I want to walk.
And remembering: this doesn’t mean bypassing emotions. High-road Capricorn includes emotional awareness. It leads from embodiment, not control.
Capricorn energy says:
I am the driver. I am the captain of my life.
Not a victim to circumstances — but an active participant who knows when to steer, when to slow down, and when to soften their grip.
Practical Application
So how do we practically sit with Capricorn? We remember its purpose.
Just like Saturn asks: How do I structure meaning? How do I take responsibility for my life — in the doing, but also in the being?
We’re here. We’re on Earth. Paying bills. Making choices. Setting goals. Becoming who we say we want to be.
Capricorn energy is kind of like: Get your shit together. And honestly — usually not in the gentlest way. Capricorn doesn’t have time for fluff. It’s direct. A straight shooter. The path forward is the path forward — no bullshit.
This is why, especially at the beginning of the year, instead of jumping into flashy resolutions, I invite a self-audit. How have I been functioning this past year?
In relationship with myself?
With friends, family, partners?
In my work?
In my community?
In my creativity and play?
What did I do well? What am I proud of? Where do I keep saying I want to improve… but haven’t?
What does real improvement actually look like?
Capricorn is about legacy. About long-term impact. So what kind of legacy do I want to begin creating — not overnight, but intentionally and with consistency?
If it feels supportive, you’re invited to pause here and sit with this energy.
A Closing Invitation:
Because Earth teaches us this:
The tighter we hold, the harder it becomes. The more we trust, breathe, and root ourselves, the more naturally things grow. And that is Capricorn wisdom.
Until next time, may you move with grace, breathe with intention, and walk in balance.
Let the soul be in harmony with the truth.
