Inner Magic

I recorded this month’s Lumina Letter so if you prefer, you can hear it in my voice — perfect for a walk, your morning coffee, or a quiet moment to yourself. Listen below xo

Hello Beautiful Humans,

Welcome back to the Lumina Letter! We are in the energy of Pisces.. back in water, but this energy feels different….

Pisces Season (Feb 19th-March 20th)

There is a beautiful warmth to Pisces. Yes, it is a water sign, and so the emotional body is being called into focus again, but with Pisces there is also a higher level of wisdom and a deeper connection to intuition.

Where other water signs may sometimes feel flooded by emotions, Pisces carries a softer draw — a warmth, a lure, something mystical. There is something about Pisces energy where you can see yourself in others, and others in you. There is a high level of empathy here, and with that comes both a gift and a lesson.

The gift is the ability to feel deeply, to connect, to sense the emotional currents around us. But the slippery slope is that such a high level of empathy can sometimes cause us to forget ourselves. I can feel what is happening to you, I can see your hurt, your beauty, your happiness, and I can get swept up into otherness that isn’t mine.

And so the greatest lesson of Pisces is boundaries — boundaries, boundaries, boundaries.

We’ve talked about boundaries before. We’ve talked about finding your voice and authentic expression. But Pisces brings us into a full circle moment where we truly understand how energetic exchange affects our beingness.

If Pisces cannot find its boundaries, it will keep swimming in the deep blue sea, further and further away from itself. And that is a disservice, because at its essence Pisces is intuitive connection. There is such a spiritual energy that floats around with Pisces — that feeling of I don’t know why this feels right, but I know it is.

That knowing can only happen when we are able to turn down the noise of constant energetic exchange with others and channel that awareness inward.

This doesn’t mean we cannot have empathy for others. Of course we can. It simply means remembering the self first.

Because within that space lies wisdom.

Without that space, everything can feel overwhelming — the thoughts, the emotions, the sadness of the world. And when that overwhelm builds, Pisces can sometimes look for escape.

Collective Energy

Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, imagination, spirituality, and the unseen. This is the energy that reminds us that not everything meaningful can be logically explained. And so Pisces invites us into the mystical. It invites us into that space where intuition whispers instead of shouts.

Pisces is also the last sign of the zodiac, the twelfth house energy. In many ways, Pisces carries the wisdom of the eleven signs before it. It is the culmination of the journey. It is the reflection after the lessons. Pisces looks at everything that came before and asks: What have I learned?

This is why Pisces energy can feel so reflective, so inward, so spiritual.

When I visualize the inner work of Pisces, I picture something like a mystical magic ball — shimmering blues, purples, sparkles, waves of smoke and light moving inside. When you look into it and ask questions about your life, your path, who you are becoming, the only thing you see reflected back is your own prophecy.

Because Pisces energy can only be spoken from within. No one else can tell you your prophecy but you.

That is where the magic lives.

There is also a deep creative current within Pisces. Art, music, poetry, movement — all of the ways humans translate emotion into beauty. Pisces energy is often what moves us when we look at something beautiful and feel something we can’t quite explain.

It’s not something we can grab onto logically. It’s the unspoken movement that flows through life.

Another image that always comes to my mind with Pisces energy is that picture many of us saw as children — the globe with humans from all different cultures and countries standing around the world holding hands.

That is Pisces. It is the reminder that beneath all of our differences, there is still connection.

Right now in our world there is a lot of division, and so Pisces season can turn on our empathetic body. We might find ourselves more tuned in, more aware of the emotional landscape around us. It can feel like we are sensing the collective heartbeat a little more clearly.

Living in the Energy

Pisces is a mutable sign, which means there is flexibility and adaptability within this energy. It can move, shift, and respond to change.

But with that flexibility can sometimes come confusion. Because Pisces does not operate from rigid certainty. It operates from feeling.

Sometimes that can look like uncertainty, doubt, or even self-questioning. Pisces can occasionally wonder, Am I doing this right? Am I going the right direction?

But the deeper lesson of Pisces is not about comparing ourselves to others. It is about asking ourselves:

How do I feel? Is this honoring the wisdom inside of me?

As someone who is a Pisces Rising, I feel this energy very personally. There is a softness that often comes with Pisces energy — a kind of spiritual aura. But I also have a lot of air in my chart, which means my work is constantly grounding myself back into my body and my intuition.

If I am not intentional about practices that connect me to myself — meditation, stillness, listening to my heart — it becomes very easy to slip into more masculine energy patterns of doing, achieving, and pushing forward.

But Pisces is feminine energy.. and when I say feminine energy, I don’t mean emotional in the sense of crying or being overly expressive. I mean intuitive. Embodied. Listening.

Pisces asks us to slow down enough to hear what our heart is saying. As when we ignore that voice, we sometimes turn toward distraction.

This is where the shadow of Pisces can appear. Escapism can take many forms — addiction to thoughts, behaviors, busyness, food, substances, people, even productivity. The question is not what the behavior is, but why we are doing it.

If we are constantly doing something to avoid feeling, we miss the opportunity to check in with ourselves.

Pisces does not want us to numb ourselves. Pisces wants us to gently separate what is ours and what belongs to others so that we can reconnect to our own inner wisdom.

Practical Application

During Pisces season, you might notice yourself feeling a little more open, a little more tuned into subtle energies.

You may feel more creative. You may feel drawn toward reflection or spiritual connection. You might even notice synchronicities or moments where something just feels right even if you can’t explain why.

Pisces invites us to listen to those moments.

For me personally, this energy showed up very strongly this season. I had a moment during the  lunar eclipse where something unfolded that completely shifted my understanding of what the next few months of my life might look like.

It was one of those moments where the universe answers a question you asked — even if the answer is a little surprising.

A few weeks earlier I had said to the universe, If you present this opportunity to me, I will be ready.

And then suddenly there it was. Did I feel fear? Absolutely. Did my logical mind immediately try to understand every outcome? Of course.

But deeper than that, there was an intuitive knowing that this was something my soul had been quietly preparing for over time.

And that is the strange duality of Pisces energy. Part of you feels uncertain because you cannot logically see the entire path. But another part of you knows, deep inside, that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Pisces teaches us that sometimes we do not need all the answers immediately. Sometimes we simply need to trust the feeling that something is aligned. If you find yourself wanting to connect with this energy more intentionally, it does not have to be complicated.

There are three minutes in your day that belong to you.

Close your eyes. Take a breath. Visualize that mystical magic ball inside your heart. Ask yourself what your path feels like, not what it logically looks like.

Even if it feels silly. Even if you think, I could never do that. Just imagine it.

Pisces reminds us that imagination is not foolish. It is the birthplace of creation

A Closing Invitation

The beauty of Pisces energy is that it reminds us that our dreams and intuition are not separate from reality — they are often the quiet beginnings of it.

Your imagination, your vision, the things you feel drawn toward in your heart — those are not random. They are messages.

Your dream can come to life when you allow your inner wisdom, your intuition, and your openness to guide you toward it.

Will it unfold exactly the way you imagined? Probably not. But the energy of what you feel inside — the love, the creativity, the connection — that is what becomes real.

So during this Pisces season, listen to what your inner voice is telling you. Even if you cannot fully explain it yet.

Trust.

Until next time, may you move with grace, breathe with intention, and walk in balance.

Let the soul be in harmony with the truth.

With love,

Shauna
