Did You Feel the Buzz?

Hello Beautiful Humans!

Hello and Goodbye to Gemini Season (May 21 - June 21)

A whole season has come and gone, but don't you worry — I was just honoring Gemini by following distraction, distraction, distraction... but I would never leave you hanging!

I laugh at that because it's honestly funny when I reflect on it now. It really is in true Gemini fashion for this newsletter to be delayed. Certainly not my intention, but life took off in what felt like 100 different directions over the last four weeks and I got caught up in it.

But alas — there is value in pausing to check back in and ask:

  • Where was I these past few weeks?

  • Where was my mind?

  • Where was my energy and attention?

  • Was there an essence of more in any of those areas?

If you nodded yes, I am not surprised because that is what Gemini brings... MORE.

Collective Energy

Let's back up with some foundational knowledge... (something Gemini loves).

Gemini is an AIR sign which, as we have learned, activates our mind, our thoughts, communication, mental stimulation, and our social body — our connections.

It is the cerebral master.

It is a quicker energy compared to our earthy Taurus who came before. You can't touch or grasp onto air, so it can create a bit of a whirlwind effect. Things are happening around us constantly which can inspire creativity, innovation, connection, action, and movement.

The planet Mercury rules Gemini, so it's a furthering call to be attentive to our mind and our communication — how we exchange with others.

Are we talking too much? Are we not talking enough? Are we speaking to fill the room or to add value? Are we going down rabbit holes of research? And if we are, are we aware enough to know the threshold of when information becomes too much information? A simple example: Googling "I have a cough" suddenly turns into seven different theories about your medical diagnosis.

Gemini leans heavily into the social aspects of our AIR. Dare I say... the most curious of all the signs. Gemini wants INFORMATION.

What kind of information? All kinds.. About you. About me. About the neighborhood. About the world. About acquiring a new skill. About what the people at the table next to you are talking about. About what books they're reading.

If it's something of intrigue, Gemini energy says: Give me more of it.

We often call this energy the continuous student, the learner of life, and that really is the magic of Gemini. It is open, curious, and that thirst is never fully quenched.

The shadow side of this energy is just that.

Because attention gets pulled in so many different directions, it can be challenging to pin down a specific path or hold onto a goal once the newness fades. Gemini gets pulled toward something else and remains the student.

The challenge becomes consistency.

Honestly, I don't think Gemini energy is here to be overly consistent. It's here to keep us on our toes. It's here to keep us exploring. There is so much out there to understand, so be the student and absorb what life is offering.

I call it bumblebee energy.

It can be light and fulfilling, but if not directed toward interests that actually bring value, the energy can pull you toward frivolous things — things that drain your energy instead of enriching it.

Did you notice a pull toward "the noise" and getting caught in it? Because that is Gemini's real lesson. Not whether we are learning. But whether what we are learning is bringing value or distraction.

Outside of this, Gemini energy is a time to socially connect, to learn about others, and to learn about the world around you. It's asking you to get outside of yourself. If we are not grounded and aware of its pull, we can get pulled in the wrong direction.

It's not just about what we are learning — it's also about what we are sharing. How are we using the information we obtain? Gemini thrives when it engages to learn, not simply to be right.

It wants to dissect ideas together, review a book's deeper message, question its own beliefs and yours. Gemini believes conversations can move us — and while that can be uncomfortable, healthy and respectful debate is desirable here.

Gemini often gets stereotyped as having a "twin mind" or being "two-sided," but I think that misses the point. To me, Gemini understands that life is rarely one thing or the other. It can hold multiple truths at once. It can be curious without certainty. It can change its mind when new information arrives.

That flexibility is part of its gift. The challenge is making sure we don't become so open to every possibility that we lose ourselves in the process. Be cautious of the constant flight of ideas that can come with this energy. It's easy to become a little flighty with our thoughts, our words, and even our attention.

It's a time to bring extra awareness to who you connect with and how you connect with them.

Are they bringing value? Am I bringing value? Or am I distracting myself?

In the body, Gemini can feel buzzy, restless, mentally overstimulated, socially pulled, or like the body is trying to keep up with the mind. It's easy to get swept away in it all.

Living in the Energy

What a couple of weeks it has been for me.

Wow.

I feel like I say that every month.

If I am speaking truthfully — and selfishly — I am loving this practice of sharing The Lumina Letter because it has given me a reason to pause and check in with how I have connected to the energy around me.

I have absolutely felt the Gemini energy. It has felt a little like running around with a blindfold on.

There have been lots of shifts happening in my life. New directions and paths bringing constant thoughts, new ideas, some fears, learning new ways of business, a lot of energy focused around family, getting pulled into directions I did not plan for myself, travel I had not planned on, needing to be more connected with others than I anticipated, and needing to be more collaborative when I naturally prefer a more independent way.

I have felt resistance to my own knowing.

I have felt exhausted by my own brain — and the brains of others.

I have felt overwhelmed by all of the information coming toward me.

But I have also learned how to pivot, be adaptable, and trust the path I am being pulled toward.

What has stuck out to me most is the question I asked earlier:

Is this bringing me value or distraction? The answer has been both.

Distracting myself by dissecting the thoughts of others — needing to "figure out everyone" — pulled me further away from where my own mental energy needed to be.

In those moments, I wasn't taking ownership of my mental space or the impact it was having on my energetic body.

A little reset and reboot allowed me to reclaim that.

To ask: Where are my thoughts powerful? What do I actually need to know? What can I leave behind? And to remember that the energy of my thoughts has the power to impact the energy in the room.

Practical Application

Lean in. Lean into the pull, the curiosity, the information. Let it take you to new places in your mind. Maybe even old places — but with new perspectives.

Stay open. Stay curious.

This energy is not asking you to restrict yourself. It's asking you to notice what is pulling you in and where you are placing your mental energy.

You are the student here.

Take inventory. Take stock.

Now that we have stepped out of Gemini season, I encourage you to do a self-audit.

  • Did you get pulled somewhere new that brought value?

  • Did you learn something about yourself, another person, or the world around you?

  • Or did you get distracted by a person, place, thing, or maybe even yourself?

  • Did your attention go somewhere that expanded you?

  • Or somewhere that drained you?

This is the important piece to pay attention to. Use your discernment with radical honesty.

Cancer is now calling us back home. Gemini asked us to explore. Cancer will ask us what is worth keeping. Before I say too much, I'll leave that there... more to come.

I will simply offer this question: How do you create your own inner sense of protection after all that just was?

A Closing Thought:

Your mind is powerful.
Be curious, but be conscious of what gets your attention.

Until next time, may you move with grace, breathe with intention, and walk in balance.

Let the soul be in harmony with the truth.

With love,

Shauna
